I work at a movie theater.
And personally? To be in the tickets booth, and see young girls, teenagers, adult women, coming in to see Barbie,
the most highlighter pink outfits, some of them coming in with the dolls they’re dressed as, laughing to each other, cheering for each other,
to see the men they’re coming to see it with, dressed in pink, cheering them on, taking their pictures with smiles and cheers in the lobby at the photo op
touches something so deep in me
I can’t say any nuances of the movie that haven’t already been said, but like, fuck man, love is so deep and so kind and to be able to see glimpses of it from behind my little ticket desk makes me a little less nihilistic.

This is why I dislike looking back on the past as if everything has been constantly improving to get us to where we are now
Our cement isn’t as strong as the Romans, our steel isn’t as strong as Damascus steel, we cannot replicate the beauty of a Stradivari violin, we’ve already lost some of the technology that flew Apollo and Gemini to space
And when I live out a suitcase I have to sift through a pile of stuff like a neanderthal

I want slower packages delivered by transportation workers who are paid more to work less and I’m not kidding
@mortuarybees: #i think its deeply important for all of us to come to terms with the fact that its actually fine to be mildly inconvenienced
Some of us are old enough to remember when literally everything took about 4 weeks to ship.
My couch is arriving in 4 weeks and company gave us a $200 gift card in apology after telling us it would take 4 weeks when we bought the thing. I-this instant gratification is really doing something to us. I know I sound like a grumpy old woman but it is ok to wait for things if it means fellow human beings are treated fairly.
I don’t have words for these numbers.
The compensation for writers and actors combined doesn’t merit even a single percentage point of studios’ revenue?
Where the FUCK does it all go, if the people who MAKE THE SHIT don’t get even a whole peanut.
Paper for watercolor is soooooo expensive, nooooo…….
anybody else enjoy creating their dream home on pinterest on a sunday evening
the best thing about the moon and the sky and the stars is that while you can’t ever take a picture of them that does them justice……you don’t need to. they’re gonna be there tomorrow
